Indeed it is. The guy who owns it also lives in my apartment complex. Meet him for the first time today.

You’re in the states I’m assuming? No front plate laws in your state?

Looking good btw, I’d like a single turbo 335i E90 someday.

Excellent taste you both have! Love your Silvertone E90M and the LRP E92M is a dream of mine. I had a AW M3 and do miss it!

I am in the states, and no front plates in Georgia. Even when I lived in Texas, which requires 2 plates, I didn’t run my front plate never had a problem. I sent this picture to my friends and was like why did they give me two plates.

Kinja'd!!!

I’d love 335i, but I figured I didn’t want to deal with the maintenance on two performance BMWs, so I got an E92 328i to DD.

It’s actually space grey metallic. I always wanted an AW E90, but I couldn’t find one, so I settled for this. The color has really grown on me.

Ohhhh crap, it is isn’t it! I have a hard time differentiating between those two colors. Love the color. Any interior pics?

My AW was an E93 on red fox leather. Miss it dearly!

Somehow I managed to look at the Georgia plate and still not put 2 & 2 together lol.

And yeah definitely makes sense for the 328i, I definitely would not want to rely on a non-stock tuner car as an alternative to an M3 lol. How much power does that V8 make anyways?

That’ll do....
I’m surprised I never managed to wrap the ~170 (new) hp E46 around a pole for the few years I had access to it.... That was enough for me in a RWD manual package, 400 is quite a bit of potential there.

It is also geared to take advantage of the torque curve of the engine. I’ve never felt it needed more power. You have to rev it out to get any performance, but it loves to rev. I regularly take mine above 8k RPM.

I’ve got 230 hp in my E92, and that feels like it’s not enough. They have a 270 hp version of the same engine and I wish the 3 was just a little more potent.

Oh yes, that’s glorious! 6MT is always a great answer. The M3 is great because both the DCT and 6MT are phenomenal.

If you’ve managed to get used to 400 I wouldn’t be surprised that ~200 hp feels a bit lacking.

The V8 (S65?) doesn’t have much low end torque? Sounds like an interesting torque curve for a V8 engine, I would think it’s a bit more muscle-y than a straight 6, but high rev power is great in it’s own way.

It doesn’t have as much low down torque as a 335i. It really comes into its own once you rev it up. Anywhere past 3500 RPM and it pulls hard. My dad test drove one and he said it felt slow compared to his 135is, and I asked him if he took it above 5k RPM. He said he didn’t I was like well there’s your problem.

Those figures are at the wheel? Pretty impressive...

I guess it’s just not inherently torque-y like most FI engines, but it still does make all the torque until mid range where it drops off, where HP starts to take over, must be a blast to wring out.

That’s from BMW, so it’s at the crank.

I can assure it is an absolute pleasure to take it to the redline.

I have a theory about BMW and hp. It’s that for certain cars ( m5 and m6) BMW reduces the hp rating but in reality the car is pushing more than BMW quotes. An m5 competition pack is claimed at 575. But some people have seen 605 before modding

For the turbo cars yes, N/A ones nope.

That’s what I figured, but every car BMW now makes (I think) is a turbo
